It’s a capacity entry of 90 cars for Sunday’s Dukeries Motor Club’s TEGIWA Donington Rally, round three of the 24/25 Protyre Circuit Rally Championship (CRC).
Reigning CRC Champions Michael Igoe and Will Atkins’ Citroen C3 Rally2 will again be going head to head with former Champions John Griffiths and Emma Morrison, as they lead the field away. Griffiths took the spoils in his Skoda Fabia R5 at Cadwell, after Igoe took maximum points on the Neil Howard Stages at Oulton Park.

But both crews have had a non- finish, after Igoe crashed out at Cadwell and so third car away Sunday, John and Alex Stone’s VW Polo R5 Gti currently has an 11 point championship lead over Chris Woodhouse and Lucy Wilding’s Peugeot 208 R2.
Josh and Tamsyn Davey’s Darrian will be the first two wheel drive car away, starting at four, and they too went off at Cadwell a stage from home, after lying in second place.  Tony Robinson and Paul Spooner’s Skoda Fabia R5 start at five after a good run at Cadwell, while at six James Garner / Jordan Joines have had a difficult start to their campaign and retired at Cadwell with gear selection issues in their Darrian.
Next up at 7 is the Ford Fiesta Rally2 of Sean & Colin Quigley, followed by Dukeries own Alasdair Stables / Neil Jones, whose Vauxhall Chevette HSR stands third overall in the Championship.  Josh Payton / Jamie Vaughan’s Ford Escort and Mark Jasper / Don Whyatt’s Nissan powered Metro6R4 complete the top 10 starters.

Dukeries members Martin Hodgson / Matt Wood start their Escort at 11, while following them are Tony & Martin Davies’ Darrian and Dukeries Andrew Turner / Ross Green’s Escort in the shootout to win the Heart of England Championship.
The next three crews are locals too, with the Escort’s of Simon Chapman / Jack Morris followed by the Porsche’s of Ciro Carannante / Simon Coates and John Yates / Alex Lee, while the top 20 is completed by Neil Beaumont / Dylan Thomas in a Mitsubishi Evo and Sam & Jack Cox’s Renault Clio.
The first of the six stages is due off at 9.15 and the rally is due to finish at 17.05.
